Got hold of the J/J2/G/G2 Girder fork (3 springs - main and 2 on the side).

As I'm totally new to this, can an experience veteran share how does one fit the girder fork on or remove it? Which section / nut must you remove to provide access to the steering tube, etc. Tried searching online for girder fork manuals and installation but no diagram or video tutorials to be found. Don't even know where to begin as I'm afraid I'll do it the wrong way.

Appreciate any guidance on this. The correct process that is.

Thanks in advance.

I believe an installation diagram (on what to remove first, etc) would really help. Any leads to that would be much appreciated.

Hi imbue. Are you still looking for advice or have you sorted your forks out yet? I have put a couple of these things together.

Hi Spech, Sorry for the late reply. Just got round checking the thread. Yes, I have managed to get the girder installation sorted after several attempts. As I was using the open bearings (they were flying all over the place, and quite a challenge to put back without the grease which I eventually got hold off) Starting to understand it better now. Thank you for your offer. I believe any help be it manual even at this stage is much appreciated.

On further note, how does one maintain the girder? Any tips and guidance? What should I look out for?

Just digging the classic vintage looks now. Just got round a spin around the lot. Will update on the ride.

Thanks in advance.

Oh yes, how does one lock the girder fork when parked? There isn't a steering lock or lock clamp for it.

Take it that you'll need to weld a clamp for it or something. Is there a hack or one available in the market?

Don't mind me blasting questions as we go as I'm just so into the royal springs and vintageness right now. :)
