Hi, Newbie Quick question. Can anybody tell me if a 4.00 x 19 mitas h02 tyre will rub on the swing arm? or is it just best to go for 3.5?

Hi Leemondo. I run K70’s, but there was a thread in May 2012 discussing exactly that. By (inter alia) Alan R, m1ks, shappers etc. They suggest it should fit (see below)……..

""shappers 16th May, 2012
Hi Hi, got a pair of H-02s on my C5. They have good straight line stability and don't white line. They are fine in the wet and roll down into a bend and roll back up very nicely. I much prefer them to the road riders fitted originally. Cheers, shappers.""

BUT, against that, the advert I have for the tyre from ~2 years ago states the Mitas H02 is a 3.5x19 whilst the latest website shows the H02 is a 4inch x 19. So maybe this size uncertainty is why no-one else has responded.
Try it and let us know?
Cheers, ChrisD

I've had a Mitas H02 4x19" on my Electra. Fitted easily. I now have a Heidenau K34 with same dimensions which was a very close fit. I occasionally carry a pillion and want to play it safe considering load carrying capacities.
If you fit a Mitas I advise caution in the wet.

Every manufacturer seems to have a slighlty different idea of what 4.00 inches should actually measure. In the case of the Avon AM26 4x18 rear, there's an extra 3/8" to squeeze in, not too clever!

Beware! a standard Avon 3.50x19 can rub on the wiring loom even when the loom is clipped securely in place.

Thanks for the info people!... probably go for 3.5 to be safe.
