As far as I know, the main beam indicator is what they call a tell tale, and may well upset the MOT tester. I am not sure if the pilot light count?

If you want new lamps (bulbs), and your bullet is indian (possibly Redditch as well) you will need BA9s lamps. 2W for the high beam, 3W for the pilot lamps, or you could go upmarket and get LED ones that are somewhat brighter!

And here if you want to read even more about changing to LED's

You will need the main beam tell tale to work, unless the tester 'misses' it. If you can see a signal working from the riding pisition you dont need a tell tale, so its sometimes ok for indicators, but you are always behind the main beam, hence the need for a tell tale. Pilot lights should be fine... but why not change the bulbs? Or is there another issue?

Pilot/side lights need to be working if fitted, mot or not. High beam indicator may be missed as said.

cheers lads..just realised there is a pilot light inside the headlamp, which is working.the twin pilot lights seem to be dis-connected,still haven't got the main beam light to work, but have got the non-functioning speedo light working...what fun
