The most accurate speedos now available are the new Smith's electronic ones, but at about £180 not cheap..
My mate has one on his A65 Cafe racer and it is spot on accurate upto 130 MPH.. The speedo goes up to 150.No cable it picks up from a magnet on the forks.. http://www.puca.co/productBF.html

How would you know that a speedo on an A65 is accurate up to 130mph? Your mate must have the world's fastest A65!!

My Bullet`s is accurate up to 15mph. I got booked once for doing 80 in a 70 zone; I should have contested it.

Allan, all part of the urban myth, the older these bikes get the faster they go. I would like my Interceptor to do what the road tests claimed 120mph, in their dreams, mine would need to be pulling over 8000 rpm to get close to that and I have a 21 tooth gearbox sprocket fitted. I don't intend to ever try spinning that massive lump of a crank at those revs

The A65has got SRM bottom end with uprated oil pumps dry clutch etc etc.. It was in Classic bike..

And Alan.. He is after being the fastest A65 (75)

Next move will be to fit an A10 crank which'll take the bike up to 840cc......
He's pushing 60BHP at the back wheel at the moment..

So as I said the speedo is accurate up to 130MPH.. That's as fast as the bike goes!.. Its set up for road use on a Spitfire Cam!. Comp is around 10:1

Tom, what revs is a Connie pulling at 110 mph? What engine sprocket and what gearbox sprocket?

And Tom, I'm not being picky here but I would love to get my Inter to be able to pull 80 mph, even downhill would impress me, makes me laugh when I see people posting that their 350 Bullet pulls 80 mph

My 350 pulls 70mph on a real chronometric with ease and it's definitely got some juice left. I don't claim 80mph but it would be too far away if I had the cods to try it.
