Hi, without wishing to appear naïve(!) has anyone obtained Insurance after fitting the 30mm Amal Carb to an Electra X, i.e. on the basis of increased performance. I'm hearing that most companies will not even entertain coverage if performance boost (HP) is greater than 20%; albeit in this case 'performance' is a relative term!
Hopefully there is a way through this as I would like to experience the extra ponies

with a clear conscience....

I'm insured with Carole Nash. I disclosed that I had fitted a freer flowing air filter and exhaust to my 500 classic ES. They were not concerned.

I told my insurance about the Haywards highway kit fitted to my electro X and they weren't interested and it hasn't increased my premium. Just be honest with them

oops, of course meant 32 mm Carb! Anyway, contacted broker (AA) who spoke to underwriters and all is ok, no extra premium, also happy with me doing the work. Thanks for comments and help and hopefully this will help anyone else considering upgrades!

I declared all of the mods on my Lightning. There was no impact on the premium.
