UCE and EFi

Colleagues,

Re: the modern Indian-made bullets

Just a simple question: was the fuel injection introduced at the same time as the unit construction engine?

Here at Hitchcocks they refer to the 'EFi' (fuel injection) engine, whereas many of the road tests and other marketing material talk about the 'UCE' (unit construction) engine.

Are they one and the same thing?

Thanks,
Thack

Yes i believe the unit construction UCE started with the EFI fuel injection in around 2008. One and the same..

Some EFI's have since been converted back to normally carbed machines, but this is via a bolt on kit, not factory stuff..

B5-E5-C5-G5-GT are all variants spec wise but all EFI/UCE motors

It does get confusing but then i'm easily confused these days... someone will put me right i expect.. gwilly

I believe there are Indian home market UCIs which have a carb rather than EFI. Just to be confusing.

Thanks, everyone, for your replies and confirming what I thought. Here in the UK, at least, we can consider EFi and UCE as arriving together.
