The best brake shoes/linings for my Model G?

I want to improve the brakes on my Model G. 6" SLS half width brakes front and rear are not oversized, to put it that way, so I want to get as much stopping power as possible out of them. I think I have read in a thread here that the available alloy brake shoes with glued or vulcanized linings are better than the original steel shoes with riveted linings. Do I remember correctly? .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- In case I do, I will order two sets of alloy shoes when I am on the case. Need new rear linings anyway, and then I will change in front too. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- Regards, Anders F. R.

Our Hosts have the alloy shoes listed in their parts book for the modelG. You also need different return springs as well to suit.

There are people who can skim you brake drum and assembled shoes for maximum contact. Some can actually do it with the wheel laced up so the drum is not pulled out of true afterwards.
You can try sticking abrasive paper to the drum to "grind in" the shoes (not on the road of course)
