Hi again guys , seeing as everyone is so willing to help , let me throw this one at you , it seems when the last owner of my bike took the front end apart , they must have beaten the steering stem free from the yoke so the threads are a bit mangled so i need to find out what the size of the thread is so i can clean up the threads with a die , if anyone knows it will be greatly appreciated , thanks and have a good one

SABoy I just had to extend the thread on a set of girder forks I'm fitting into a WDCO frame and the die has 26 TPI and Brass written on it. The shaft measures 1 inch od.I would assume the G is the same. I believe this is the same thread that was used on pushbikes for many years until pushbikes started arriving on the market from the Asian countries and the threads are all different

Hi Norm , thanks much for the post , but i am pretty sure that 26tpi refers to the pitch of the die , seeinf as 26 tpi comes in many sizes , and obviously the thread should metric i presume , does your die have any other markings.?

One inch at 26tpi would be British Standard Cycle but beware. There is also 1" at 24 tpi - also BSCy
Good charts here.......http://www.motalia.com/Html/Charts/thread_charts.html

Hi Mark M , as a matter of fact , no i did not resolve the numbers on the frame , i assume what you guys told me was correct and that it was in fact a forge marking from when they made the frame , because the serial number on the frame matches the engine , and that number beginning with the P i guess is unrelated , i have no idea ! , also thanks Pete F you are correct it is 1" x 26 tpi , i picked one up today , thanks again for the trouble you went to , have a great day
