Hi all,
Just doesn't seem to be the pressure on the kick start when starting the old 250cc Clipper like it used to be, might just be me of course, a friend is lending me his compression tester to check it out. roughly what kind of readings would be acceptable, would below 80psi be lousy, above 100psi sound. look foreword to your reply's.
Cheers Howzie.

As a very rough estimate multiply the compression ratio by 14.7psi which is atmospheric pressure.

Lets say 8:1 x14.7= ~118 psi anything less than 100 is crooked.. very approximate...

Hi all, Just an update regarding the compression on my 250cc Clipper, well for one thing my mate never turned up with his comp/tester, so off I went to good old Halfords & splashed out £24.99 for a Gunson compression tester, done the job & give a reading of 120psi! so that's that, till something else crops up!

Thanks Gwilly, Norm, & Adrian 1

Cheers Howzie.
