i have bought a bigger output alternator for my 2007 bullet .
the old one had four wires 2 purple a yellow and a orange , the new one has two green .

i want to run the lighting side off the battery so how do i connect ?

John, you have now opened a complete can of worms that is much more than just connecting up an alternator. You have to convert the wiring to D/C to the headlight. I have written this up several times but my head hurts thinking about it. Not sure if the search function works here but it would be under a heading something like A/C to D/C headlight
