Hi all , having purchased a 2000 enfield with a crook bigend
I purchased a forged conrod p/no - 90125
and a re15 roller bigend
can I balance the flywheels myself , and any hints or tips on getting the flywheels apart

Pete you really need a press to push it apart and press it back together and you need an RE13 bearing not a RE15

thanks for your reply norm , is there a problem with using the RE15 bearing ,
and I have a press but how do I get the first side off ,

You need a pair of thick steel plates to act as spreaders when inserted between the flywheels on a press or a pair of heavy duty tyre levers and a suitable hold down jig or clamp. You may know what you are doing (but if you don't know how to get them apart I'm guessing you are new to this,) but the whole job (dismantling and rebuilding) is not for the amateur. Balancing in particular is complex, even with a well equipped workshop.

Pete, problem with an RE15 is it won't fit it is for pressed cranks not bolted cranks

thanks , I will have to check , I thought when I bought it it would fit as it stated that it came complete with nuts ,
RE15 ROLLER BIG END ASSEMBLY with silver plated needle cage (This is supplied with the crankpin, nuts, rollers. roller cage and fixed bush, please order thrust washers and other parts if required) , cheers MR pete

Pete you could be right, I thought that the RE15 was to suit the Hitchcocks flywheels, RE 13 for the Indian ones but I could be wrong, they may now have another roller big end available
