My mates Enfield 500.
Misfiring.
I changed the plug three or four times, lead a few times, cap and then coil.
We swapped over the Boyer, and I retimed it ,which made a big difference but it's still doing it.
I have had the carb apart and also wired in a new ignition switch.
Charging is good .
Mystified now... So far about 7 hours .. Lucky I'm not charging eh

Is it missing at idle, under throttle, cruising? Plug color is? Voltage checked going to ignition? Valves adjusted, good compression, air screw on carb set at 1 1/2 turns out from seated and fine tuned from there? I hate miss firing, especially on a multi cylinder engine, but a single should be easy to sort. Good luck.

It's missing across the range ...
I tried my new cb550 battery on there
Compression and clearances are good.
I do wonder about intermittant voltage .. Might run a direct power to the coil... I did wire in a new switch for him ..

Very hard to pick but have you changed the condensor, seems like you have changed everything else

Are you sure it's ignition? Sticky valve?

Sounds like symptoms of an air leak, check the rubber manifold connecting hose between the carburettor and cylinder head carefully for a split, it might even be under the retaining bands.

Plus one with Leon, also check the gasket between the actual intake boss and the cylinder head...
Spitbacks have been known to blow out a section of the thinnest bit of the gasket....
Will play up across the range except full throttle...
