I bought a new chain from hitchcocks a while back and have only just tried to fit it tonight, but it appears to be 1 link too short? I've slacked everything right off and put the snails on their shortest setting but I still can't get it to join, have i got the wrong chain? I think it said 95 1/2 links on the packet??
Thanks

95 links is ok with the standard 17 or 18 tooth gearbox sprocket but requires 96 links for 19 tooth..
Don't forget that the chain tightens a lot when the rear shocks are compressed so slack is better than tight...

Maybe I've got a 19 tooth then?
Is it possible to buy and fit additional links?

Silly question but have you counted the number of pins on the new chain and the old chain? If I remember correctly 95 & half is for 18 tooth final drive sprocket
