Usually I find if I remove the speedo drive cable I can manage to just get enough room to change the bulbs. if you do have to remove the speedo its just a case of undoing the large nut above the speedo drive cable to release the holding bracket then lift out speedo from top.

You don't mention which bike it is, but just another thought if you do take the speedo out.... the rubber ring that you can see around the speedo is usually not equal width all round. It should be replaced so it causes the speedo to tip slightly AWAY from the rider. In other words, the thick part of the rubber ring is nearer the RIDER, not the front of the bike.

Otherwise, the speedo will get in the way of the headlight, inside. Hope that is even a bit relevant?
All the best, Chris.

If it's a more modern bike like the EFI or Electra then you can change these without removing anything. Turn full lock to the right and pull the bulb holders (not the wires!!!!) out with long nose pliers. You might find it easier to loosen the ignition barrel but depending on how long your pliers are, or how long and thin your fingers are, then nothing needs removed...
