been told that Bullets 500 do not accept ring chains. True? false?
Which is the best chain to replace the OM?

Well, I don't know what your bullet's been telling you, but you damn well tell it that it's getting a new chain, and that's final!
A good quality Japanese chain is good, and the sealed O ring chains are good as well.
There is a little debate over lubrication on O ring chains. One side says that they don't need it and adding lube causes grit to get dragged in, creating a grinding paste affect,
The other side say to clean the chain and add a little lube.
Let the battle commence!
P.S. I just ordered an O link for my 500 bullet!

Hi Yosi: From what I have heard, o-ring chains are marginally wider than the standard chain and will rub on the back of the primary chaincase wearing a hole in it.

It`s true that O / X ring GREASED sealed chains are wider, also some chains can have thicker side plates as well as higher ones. If you have a drip feed for your chain stick to that one, i`m happy with mine.

Er, whoa, hang on...
Yosi, did you mean the primary or final chain here, as I was referring to Back wheel chain?

I meant the final drive. I am planning a long trip (20.000+ miles) so I'm acquiring info to be prepared. I'm planning to fit a lube drip on the new chain (Tutoro) because on other bikes experience show that it worked a treat. My Honda never needed chain adjustment, chain lasted 35,000. My Speed Triple is still with the original chain and sprocket after 26.000
Any advice is welcomed

I have fitted plenty of " O" ring chains to Bullets I use a clutch steel plate to make up a primary to crankcase spacer to move the primary case out a couple off mm and no problems

Norm: That seems like a lot of fiddling around just to fit a different type of chain. Julius Caesar managed without o-rings on his chariot drive so that`s good enough for my chariot.

Leon,
down south we do things a bit differently than the banana benders up north, we can't be bothered adjusting chains all the time

Hey, Norm, tell him little time was available to chain
adjust in Melbourne recently as all the Enfields held
in reserve for back-up power for the 'White Night' Light
Festival you had there. Ne'ry a mention in the footage
glimpsed of that psychodelic event. Sure looked pretty.
