Is it just me, or are other Firefox browser users having problems with the forums left hand column here...? The pop out menus are not working properly. The text is white on the popouts..

I recommend AdblockPlus, Exile. Speaking as someone who really won't tolerate ANY advertising on my 'puters or tablet I've found it to be the best so far. You have to configure it for NO advertising though or it will allow some paid-for ads. Works for I.E. as well.

Adblocker is usually OK, but I had just downloaded the newest edition after having to reinstall Firefox. I had to reinstall Firefox to get rid of a really intrusive (and very difficult to remove) search engine from AVG antivirus that imported itself with no warning when I updated that.

Why do these people allow themselves such stuff? Why do they HAVE to invade one's computer? Do they really think we appreciate having extra programmes thrust upon us? I don't.

Sorry. Rant over.

Heartfelt sympathies on that one matey! I had a similar problem with AVG Antivirus, someone in the family accidentally downloaded a "free" error and repair programme and all sorts of other crap that came with the latest update. The unwanted programme promptly crashed the laptop and I had to do a complete re-format to get rid of the bloomin' thing. Fortunately, having been caught out before everything important is now put onto memory sticks or CD's. You really do have to be soooo careful and read the info, sometimes it's uncheck the box if you don't want it, next time it's tick the box if you don't want it...
