Hi, Bought my 2009 Bullet a couple of months ago. Recently I've had a few snags. Bike starts after about six or seven kicks and idles very slowly. As soon as I try to open the throttle, even slowly, the engine dies. Then it starts again after a couple of kicks but as soon as I try to open the throttle again it cuts out. Once it finally gets under way, after repeating the above 3 or 4 times, It's OK as long as I keep it reving. As soon as I let the throttle go completely at a junction or lights, the engine dies again. Obviously, holding the revs on when stopped is loud and annoying for everyone. Any ideas?

I had the same problem after I bought Thumper. I looked in the technical notes and found a section on tuning carburettors. It sounds like the tickover is set too low. It's easily solved by tinkering with the air screw and the throttle stop screw. Whole job takes about ten minutes.
