No, you haven't forgotten it Exile, it's just become automatic.

And that's the best explanation I've seen - well done

Agree with Pete - it seems natural - and very enjoyable when you do it deliberately. I mean it feels so odd and so right at the same time. Good too on very narrow twisty roads, with a bit of adverse body lean! One of the joys of motorcycling!

It's there all the time isn't it. It's the completely wierd way a two wheel machine that can lean at the same time steers. I can never understand chairs for that reason. What's so nice with the deliberate use of the bars is how quickly you can lie the bike down one way and then the other. Windy roads are the best.

You don't need to practice Exile, just go over an exposed bridge with a high sidewind and you'll see how good you are at it. Or for a super day out try Speedway Rides 'n' Slides Dayz!

Bryan, that's not counter steering, that's drifting - different phisics.

Exile: You don`t need to learn or practice; it`s something that is natural on a solo machine. To find out why, ask someone who owns a sidecar-outfit to let you have a go on it. Make sure it`s in a large empty carpark, or paddock, for you will be certain to get a shock. Solos are counter-steered, outfits are steered.
