Efi tickover behaviour

Anyone know what the optimum tickover speed - roughly - should be for the EFI? My new Woodsman starts easily enough, then revs will start to rise as it warms. At lights revs seem to rise and fall, and I feel I have to blip the throttle to stop it stalling sometimes. I wonder if the throttle cables are too tight but there is slack on the cable rotor - in fact I want to eliminate most slack at the twist grip. Any thoughts welcome, thanks.

I don't have the book with my but I was adjusting my Woodsman tickover about 2 months back.
From memory, 850 to 1150 rpm, but 1050-1100 is good so it does not stop at junctions. (I still have the PAV running on mine) I used an app on my iphine for rpm. it listenes to the engine and works very well. It called 'Engine RPM' It not a cheap app, but it does work.
Plus... I not sure about yours, but a tank of 97-98 octane plus an NGK plug sorted out the uneven slow running.

Forgot...
As your Woodsman and engine are new, the engine will still be a little 'tight' until run in, well, about 1000 miles, then it should behave a little more consistently.

Not so sure about that Scalyback, I've had two efi now and they've both done that.

well ok, taking into account that there is that unexplainable thing where you pull up at a junction and the tickver is fast at about 1350 RPM for about 12-15 seconds and then it suddenly slows to normal.
anyone care to explain that?
