Hi Norm-------- a while back you had a Connie crankcase that kept weeping oil from a small crack...How did you solve this in the end ?? .......Was is Loctite or JB Weld ??? My mate's 650 BSA Lightning has a similar problem .........

Hi Alan,
Not a Connie, it is a series 2 Inter which is a wet sump motor and it is still leaking. Being a wet sump motor makes it harder. I have convinced the owner that the only way is to drain the sump and put a liter of metho in it and leave it for a week so the metho can wash through the crack, then drain what metho is left in the sump. Then remove everything from the bike that can be damaged and tip the bike upside down on an old mattress, then heat up around the area where the crack is and then put 290 Loctite on the crack and let that work its way into the crack for a couple of days. Then clean up around the crack and build it up with a mound of JB Weld and hopefully this will fix it. Motor has just had many thosands of dollars spent on it and I don't want to split the cases and weld it up

Alan: Norm forgot to mention that it`s easier to do this in Australia as the bike is already upside down.
