OK lads, in light of my recent fitting of a saddle ass-backwards, is there anything I need to know BEFORE I remove the PAV..?? Or is it really just a case of pulling it and then blanking the remaining holes?

That's all it is. Also remember to plug the manifold hole (or pipe).

Thanks Roeland. Job is done now. I also found a way to blank the hole off from the cylinder end. I didn't remove the little brass tube, in case I need to reverse the process at any time, so I clipped about a half inch off the rubber tube, heated it and screwed a slightly oversize screw into the tube. I then used that as a cap for the brass tube.

You never know what regulations the blasted EU might throw at us and PAV's may be mandatory at some time!

You can probably stake your pension on the likelihood of the EU making something totally useless a mandatory item. One of the EU Commissioners probably has a cousin who makes the things! Sorry, getting political now......going for a cuppa.

Don't worry about getting political Alan, you can bet your bottom dollar that every government decision worldwide is made because somebody stands to benefit from it and you can bet it isn't the public. Somebody always has their hand in the till
