Hi, Has anyone yet had a problem with the new Continental GT? Mine has developed a fault, when I turn the ignition on the brake light and the right rear indicator light up for a short time then go out, also when I apply the front or rear brake levers the right rear indicator lights up as well as the brake light itself.

Hello matey !!--------------- I think you must be the first in this new category ??------------The answer is very simple indeed--------------Take it back to where you got it from and get them to sort it out....BUT, having said that don't be surprised if they say that lights are regarded as "Consumables" and not part of the WARRANTY.........

Ah, good old indian EFI/UCE electrics. Yes, take it back and tell them to re-wire it because it will almost certainly need it.

Hi, I think the answer is simple. The rear light cluster wiring can rub on the rear wheel. The wiring is to long where it comes through the mudguard at the light cluster. Look here first. Richard

Sorry TRIBONNIE but I'm going to vigorously oppose your advice in this instance......If this bike were out of it's Warranty period then the normal "Rules" of home maintenance would apply and I'd be the first to agree with you.....BUT, not only is this a new bike to the owner but it's a new DESIGN to the market as well..In such a case the only REAL way that any messages about weakness and failings can get back to the Manufacturer, and in a way that makes them take notice, is via their WALLET !!...You REALLY MUST use what little Warranty cover you may have to the MAX.....If no one tells them about their product failings then don't be surprised if they say }--- "We were not aware of this "..It's up to ALL of their customers to keep giving feed-back to the factory and using the Warranty is probably the most effective way of getting that done..........When the Warranty has expired you can fiddle, tinker, adjust etc to your hearts content ( The factory won't want to know you then----eh, NORM ??)---------------------- There now, rant over---red.mist gone !!

I totally agree with Alan. The exorbitant price paid for these modern machines along with the shoddy workmanship/materials we are expected to put up with make it vital that manufactures, not just of bikes but all consumables, are made aware in no uncertain terms of there failings and be hit in the profit margin.. Some of these firms really play us for fools, and its got to stop…

Alan, it is hard enough to get the factory to take any notice even when it is still under warranty

I'll stick my neck out on this one! I may have agreed that in the past that 'we had to put up with shoddy workmanship/materials' but this is not the case with the Continental GT. I'm not making a comment about the cost or performance of the bike but the quality of materials and workmanship on this bike are fine.

I must agree take it to the dealer warranty book in hand I must also say that the continental gt I viewed at the stafford show in October looked no better in quality or finish than any other enfield ever made in India but they are very near to the quality of 70,s jap bikes so they have only t have another 40 years before they hit the dizzy heights of what is currently acceptable in standards of motorcycle build quality but there were some mighty fine 70,s jap bikes I had a few although the big jap fours had very good engines anyway anyone with a gt I hope that they will be better than what has been before atb paul
