Has anybody got any tips or bright ideas how to get the timing gear off the crankshaft? I'm scratching my head looking at various pullers but there's no significant gap behind the cog to get a grip on.
I'd be very grateful for any help

Officially - Tool number 98003 (Use search for details) £14. Unoficially - Light taps from a copper/hide hammer and some careful prising.

You could try warming it up a bit but they can be tight. Not worth damaging anything for the price of the special tool if it won't come. (Midge, I think you mean 98001 - 98003 if for the oil pump worm)
