I'd go with the monoblock they are an excellent carb and they are a bit more robust than the concentrics that distort rather easily resulting in sticking slides.

What's wrong with the original ?? They're perfectly adequate for a standard set-up both in 350cc or 500cc..Maybe an Ultrasonic clean and an overhaul kit is all it'l need ??.......Unless you want that "British look" then the monoblock has the 1950's style I think..............£100 or more for a Mk1 concentric is a lot of pre-Christmas dosh just to be different, wouldn't you say ??............

Is it broke? If not why mend it?

Simon, Monoblocs will distort as well if overtightened...

There is basically nothing wrong with the standard carb for most purposes. It's easy to keep in adjustment, and it is cheap and easy to replace the whole thing when it wears out. I sit very firmly in the 'if it ain't broke..' camp!

I'm inclined to agree with the others that if "it ain't broke"... Also a Super Meteor spec Monobloc (correct spelling,) is probably going to be too big, it'll be 1&1/8th" or thereabouts and maximum for an untuned 350 ought to be about 1". That's not to say you can't get it to work but just something else to fiddle with!

I've got a 1 1/8th monobloc (correct spelling noted) on my 350 and the head has been port matched to suit. I'm not sure how much the carb is responsible as I have done other mods but the motor does breath beautifully.

Was there way back someone here who took a bike that was not broken & set about it until it was. Allegedly spent many £100s on a 350, "designing and developing" numerous "tuning modifications" and got little or no return in the way of reliability or usefulness for his efforts.
