"Flouncy" forks--------- ????

Just a "Quickie" here lads--------On my 2005 Bullet 500 Classic, how do the forks "breathe" ie How does the air inside the fork assembly vent to the outside when the slider moves upwards and compresses it ( and vice/versa when moving downwards.). I'm NOT talking about the gaitors here, but the air within the units themselves. The threaded steel bungs on top do not have any drilling in----should they?? Maybe a 0.5mm hole perhaps.??? Any thoughts--- Maybe a Punka-Wallah Valve will do it ?? ( Sorry Hemant--it's just me trying to be "Indian-Aware"---- a bit of fresh air ???

They don't need to is (I believe) the Short answer..

For an Idea!
But basicly The Oil in your Forks Squirts Through a Valve & the Air Compressors as-well aided by the Springs to Give you Some (Basic) Compression & rebound in ya Forks ..."Well Thats as I see it" IMHO
OK Idian wise I have (ashamed) Ridden Enfields with and with out oil in & with Caps Lose and Not Noted that much difference!

Craig's reasoning seems correct, as you check with a bicycle pump with finger blocking and pressing. Boyles Law 'spring' to mind from A level physics !!

Well !!!------- would you believe it ?? I removed those top plugs(initially to see how the forks behaved without them)----replaced them and now all is well, forks "flouncing" up & down nicely---unlike with standard springs and 20weight oil !!(ROCK_ARD !!!) Thanks guys--- one job less to do !!!
