The OEM indicators on my 2000 Bullet are always snapping off, I know this is from the vibration of a large single cylinder engine; I have replaced every one except the right-hand front which is braced by having an oil temperature gauge screwed to it. I`m curious as to whether other Royal Enfields have this problem. I prefer these as they are very bright in daylight whereas some proprietry ones are nearly invisible in the daytime.

Leon, the stalks are made from crap material that goes hard and then breaks. I have used JB Weld to put them back together but then they often break in another spot. That is the reason most people fit aftermarket indicators

Hi Norm: Aftermarket ones break off too; this one is taped onto the brake cable.

Leon, of coarse those will still break Leon because they are cheap rubbish, you get what you pay for, and it is getting very hard anywhere in the world to get a quality product because the world is full of Indian/Chinese junk. I bet if you bought a genuine Harley indicator it wouldn't break like that but you will certainly pay for it

You're right about quality Norm. I put some Lucas-style indicators on my Bullet. Didn't want to pay lots for the "genuine Lucas". After less than a year's use, the chrome on the stalks has been all but replaced by rust. Not impressed.

Midge it looks like it may also have shaken his helmet off. I bet that must be painful as well as embarrasing. LOL.

The units on the Infamouse Enfield are 21 years old and doing fine despite me occasionally bashing them

My problems on my 2006 iron barrel Classic were not so much the stalks breaking as the rubbish quality of the metal used on the original tail light/indicator housing. Brackets snapped like chocolate, I remounted and remounted the indicators in the tail unit until all available "steel" was torn out by the continuing vicious vibration. I got fed up and replaced the unit with a decent 50's style British-made unit from our hosts. Then all that happened was that the bulbs blew with greater frequency...ho hum.
Cheers
