I have just started up the Super Meteor that I am giving a good freshen up after sitting under a lean too since 1988. I have rewired it, fitted a 4 wire stator and Boyer powerbox. New Motorbatt battery started it up and at idle I am getting 14 volts, rev it up and still 14 volts, turn the lights on and it drops to 13.8 volts. I'm not sure if I should be concerned because I can't recall getting this high voltage before, so many times I struggle to get 13 volts

I would just clean and make sure earth's to frame are good and clean and then run as is. Remember your using a four wire stator and modern regulator rectifier the output on this on a modern bike would be 13 to 14.7 so that seems acceptable to me.

Is that 14v at the battery? If so it's just a tad under ideal voltage. I've always understood 14.2v is ideal.
If that's straight off the alternator at revs before the powerbox then it's very low .
A 12v battery not being charged, in good condition, can show 13v with no problems.
