Hello Folks as Some of you might know my daily ride is an Indian Home Mrkt' 350 of 98 Vintage,
She Cane Compleate with an Indian Security device (A Coil Lock?) under the Tank, Locking Petrol Tap And Ingintion Key on the Tool Box.

All so The Indicators never worked unless you had the Engine running... "Shes a Brilliant starter still on her First set of Points ,Everything works, and she Has 30 Thou Miles on the Clock."

NOW!! : Just Noticed today though what ever Position Any of the Keys are in "She will Start ,Run & Work ok" In fact with No keys in Every Thing has started Working Ok??

Well I suppose its Better than Nothing working??

Any Ideas?. Live earth?,Just a Duff Switch (Viz Ok)
All Lights work ok On & off

Though it Blows a Dip Beam Now and again, But Would a Headlamp short cause this??

So She Runs Perfect, First Kick Starter, But all Live Electrics? and No Power Lost?

Oh well "Enfields" Hey... Off for a Pint Now ;0)

Hello CRAIG}----- not often you get someone complaining about everything working normally !!!---but I see what you mean. First, could you explain a bit more about this Indian "security" device under the tank? And, also at first thoughts it does sound as if your ignition switch has developed an internal problem ( ie ---permanently in the "on" position.). Being an ex. Indian Home Market bike it might be that the flashers are wired to work that way anyway ( or they may also be part of this fault as well ??). We need someone on this forum who has an Indian 350 from about 1998 who can shed some more light on this. Any takers out there ????

Yes Allan,

Free Flow BASS from a Barrel very Nice,

RE: The Problem, I was mainly showing the Individual, idiosyncrasy's of the ENFIELD.

I will Probe Deeper but I use it every Day and All Bike maintenance is Done out side so I will await a Warm, relaxing day.

The security device is I believe a Coil lock, Stops power to Coil? (Think Immobiliser)but it is Fastened to rear TANK Mounting Bolt, I have seen them on the Odd Other Bike.

But as Said as Long as She Run's I am leaving well be !

Cheers all, Craig

Hello Craig, If this "lock" is a switch that looks like an ignition switch and usually mounted on the Off side, above the tea caddy, oval plate boulted on to the rear tank fixing, then most likely it is a power from battery kill switch. Should have two wires going into it. And the bike will have a normal ignition switch at the side of the right hand tool box. ... and ..Yes if all is working well then leave it be..
