I have not heard mention of this before but I am having problems with a 1A Inter that is wet sumping.Just been rebored, and heads done and now has about 600ks up. Running fine but on start up it is obviously wet sumped. leaving pistons on TDC hasn't helped. I haven't had the bottom end apart, I'm hoping it isn't leaking between the cases. Any thoughts

It is getting worse so my thinking now is a partial blockage in the scavenge pickup somewhere. Looks like splitting the cases is the only option. At the moment it is in Hobart Tasmania with still probably another 500 ks before it gets back to the boat to return and from what I am hearing Tasmania is unlikely to ever rust lol

Norm the most likely place for the blockage is the joint between the crankcase and the timing cover.

Good call Dennis, first thing I was going to do was pull the timing cover and check.

What about a dose of Penrite Flushing oil first? Remember the old adds from the `50s: Drain. flush and refill with so and so`s motor oil.
