Hi
I have a 350 cc RE Bullet Indian market 2002. Under the engine there are three oilplugs. Two (2) with a 3" inch brass wiring / net and one (1) that is just a plug. How to place them??? Accordning to the drawing on this site the two ones with brass wirning schould fit in the frontiest and the middle hole. The one that is just a plug at the back.
IS THAT CORRECT ???

In a word - YES
Be careful with those threads; the alloy isn't the best and there aren't many threads - very easy to stip them. I fitted Dowty washers and lock-wire to make doubly sure................http://www.whfolk.co.uk/REOCHUMBER/Arti ... nplugs.htm..............

Thats how mine has a crack in the crankcase. A previous owner had wrapped the plug in plumbers hemp and tightened the plug excessively. He kindly 'mended' the crack with JB Weld, but of course that has now failed again. I agree a dowty washer is the best to use, it seals at just over hand-tight, if you can lock wire them so much the better just to prevent them working loose.

Good grief! Plumbers hemp? I give up - no wonder it cracked.

If I get busted I'm gonna use the plumers hemp excuse .
