Hi Folks,
Anyone got any suggestions for cleaning aluminium parts (like gearbox etc)?
They are covered in patchy oxidised areas... I Presume none of the aluminium is coated?
What's worked best for you?
Thanks

I've found a piece of leather polishes it up nicely.. and a little elbow grease, of course.

Also depends on how bad it is no mention of how old. I sent an outer primary case off a Super Meteor out to get polished because it had like a black mould on it. The more they tried to polish it the more perosity came out, had to give up in the end

Agree with Riggers on this one!!
And once it's done the initial restoration, you'll find it'll keep the metalwork looking spot on.

Boil it up with rhubarb (not joking)

That's why they say not to cook rhubarb

in an aluminium pan, as it strips the ally

off into you food!
