What sort of cruising speed can I expect from a 1950 Model G? I know its not a race horse but would 50/60 seem about right?

50-55 mph cruising is possible, don't forget the back end is rigid so any potholes will be painful and with one inch wide single leading shoe brakes be sure not to get too close the the car in front. It's really a B or quiet country lane bike but sweet and you don't see that many day to day.

Hi guys------------ Hi FROSTY, this is my mate Tim's 1932 350 Enfield which has been fully restored..Having spent several seasons following behind it ( gorgeous solo BARK!! when on song ) I can confirn that 50 - 60mph is the MOST you'll want to do on that type of frame !!-----------------------------------------------------------

Cheers for the comments. Rigid frames don’t bother me, I’ve done thousands of miles on rigids. The six inch brakes do cause some concern I must admit. Having said that, I do have a 1933 BSA three wheeler which has one eight inch rear brake and one eight inch front brake (which is normally a bit oily), so braking is “interesting†to say the least.
