My 2006 electra has suddenly gone completely dead of all electrics, it has a new battery fitted 5 months ago and was working when I placed the bike in the garage after last time out.
I went to use the bike 3 days ago, when the key is turned I get nothing, no warning lights, brake lights etc, totally dead, battery has been removed and checked and is fully charged all fuses checked and are sound, battery has been refitted and all connections checked, still completely dead!! Any ideas please!!

Bet you even money it's the battery lead that goes to the battery to the frame.

My money is on a loose connection/short in the headlamp casquette. Fairly common I reckon, hopefully an easy fix. Headlamp off and have a look.

Worth checking continuity through the fuse holder, not just the fuse. They're not the best in the world and it's worth swapping them to the blade type.

If it is the ignition switch, a shoogle shuold sort it out in the short term :) thats what I did with mine. If you don't know what a shoogle is, then your not Scottish :)

Thanks for all the tips, the faulty part has been traced to the ignition switch, a new part has now been ordered from our hosts.
Special thanks to Frank & Jaffa90, you were both correct with the ignition switch.
I'm also going to upgrade the standard fuses to the mini blade type.
Thanks again.
