Hello.
At the moment I have a poor single cam front brake :

I want to update with a double came brake, reusing my drum.
I do not understand the difference between
- the TWIN LEADING SHOE CONVERSION ref 144705 at 95 UKP
- and the TWIN LEADING SHOE CONVERSION ref 92685 at 99 UKP

and then why the "improved version" is cheaper.
Any idea?

Thanks

Looks like the difference is you get a cable with dearer item (which you might need)
Be aware that you have a fiddly job ahead of you to get this TLS working properly. There is a tech note on here to help you.

Did the modification to the TLS last week and its completely changed the bike, I now have a brake that works for the first time in years, well worth doing.

Hi guys-------------- you might want to consider upgrading the linings when they are due..These modern compounds are a big improvement on the original items...

Interestingly Alan, I "upgraded" the linings and found no improvement at all (and yes, they are set up correctly and "run in")
I suspect that the later bikes (mine is 2008) already had decent linings.

Hello

Master Hitchcocks confirmed me today that the brake with cable uses the same parts as the "improve brake".
So yes, the difference is "only" the cable.
