When I bought my 350 machismo in Delhi and then had it exported I asked them to fill a box with spare parts. I now want to change the rectifier regulator that comes in two parts. When I dug down into my box of spares I find one unit that has rec/ reg on it (no part number). Can I simply remove the old units and replace by this one new one?

Sorry tim there is a caveat on this there could also be a puff of smoke because I find with these Indian ones it is a 50/50 chance of a new one being no good either. You get what you pay for. A rec/reg for a lot of Jappers will set you back around the $160/180 mark and even then the are not perfect, they can fail quickly

Oops, this could be an issue Tim, does yours have the single bolt primary or one like an Electra. If it is like an Electra then it should be a 3 phase alternator so a different rec/reg is required
