Electra (AVL) Oil Filter question ;0)

Right I have Changed the Oil & Filter for the 1st Time on an Electra/AVL engined Bike ( i am use to the Classic/Iron Head etc)..Now My Questions... Q1: When Putting the Oil Filter Cover/Spring/End Nut On.."They was a Lot of Pressure on That Spring I had To Hold The Cap on then Get some One else put the Nut On".. IS This Normal Ie hard To do ,Pressure etc etc...
..Q2: Oil Drain Bolt Did Not have a Filter Gauze On it? ..Should it of had??....

Hi Craig, Sounds about normal some are harder than others to get on and if you are talking about the oil tank drain plug then no strainer is right, no need in there

Thanks Norm, Just what I needed Confirmation of what (I Thought I might of) done Correctly,... But That Cap Spring Certainly is a 3 handed Job ;0)...And Yes it is The Oil Tank Drain Plug... So Thank's again for Confirming... Cheers Craig

Re Q1, It's an easier job with a socket rather than a normal spanner. Provided you have the flanged dome nut on the end cover, pressure on the socket driver should also hold it all in place while you're finding the start of the thread.

Thanks Adrian, I did Use a Socket But Still Needed Two Hands to Hold the Cap Straight... I was Lying On The Floor Out Side at The Time..But Still needed The 3rd Hand ! ( Where On the Classic its a One Handed piece of P*ss)...Still ya Live and Learn its Normal Then?? Aprently ;0)... Cheers Craig
