Hi All
My crusader is playing up yet again
It starts and after a fashion ticks over and seems to rev ok
But when you try to pull away it get to about 2500 rpm and cuts out
It is then hard to start unless it has cooled down for a few min
I noticed that the coil was getting hot and replaced that
Am I right in thinking that the condenser my be shoot as well ??

Cheers

Rob

Are you turning the ignition switch the right way? There is an Emergency Start position which lets you use the output of the alternator to start it if the battery is flat but you must go to the correct position when it is running. Also, are you in the Crusader Group? if you go to http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Crus ... group/info you can sign in! REgards, Mark

Hi Mark
Yes the ignition switch is in the correct position I can start in both and if I start it in emergency it rough until I switch it over to normal ignition
I was thinking it could be the condenser breaking down under load??
I did join the crusader group but I have trouble with logging in all the time lol

Cheers

H'i sweeper I had the same sort of problem with my crusader sports it kept burning condensers out in the end I fit an electronic setup and it's been fine. So this may be another route to go it was a pazon unit not sure which one but i'll check and let you know. steve.

What position do you have the needle clip on in the carb? If the needle is set too lean it could have these symptoms.

H'i sweeper I've checked my pazon unit and it's an energy booster which keeps the points but does away with the condenser I've not had any problems since I installed it. H'i Chris don't ask I seem to be taking one step forwards and three back but I'll get there. steve.
