If you think 40 isn't thick enough for summer it will be perfect for when it's a bit cooler.
If you don't want to risk it just pass it on to me.

Craig it is totally unsuitable. Do not put it anywhere near your engine. This fluid is the devils work. Just send me a £20 note to cover fuel costs and I will come and take it away for you so that you can stop worrying. You know it makes sense............of course it's OK. You can run these sorts of engines on most modern oils. 20/50? 14/40? Stright 40 or 50? All will be OK.

I've never seen 14w/40 but guess it's close enough to the 15w/40 so as not to make any difference to the AVL's recommended grade. I know someone who knocked out several big ends whilst using straight 50 in his classic engine before realising that the oil was probably too thick on a winter's morning. He gave up on Enfields so is actually not sure if the correct multigrade would have made a difference.

--------- why not sell it on E-Bay ?? Then buy your existing oils already in use and all will be calm and tranquil..... as if pouring oil onto troubled waters ???

--------- but if you MUST use it then at least check it for detergent content as ---if it's from a "Fleet" user it might be specifically for Diesel use ??

Hi.
14W/40 is a grade I've never heard of, nor have Morris's, Castrol or Comma.
Are you sure that's right?

But I can't see any reason not to use it. There are very few multigrade engine oils that won't be OK in a Bullet - just keep clear of monogrades. (At least that's my opinion.)
