I have one of a 4 wire high output alternators that only gives 20vAC when the engine is revving hard :-) I measures the resistance across the output and get 0.5 ohms, For a standard alternator this would be about 1.5ohms. Any thoughts?

Don, how do you know what coloured wires to join together, was there any instructions with it. The colours don't match the Indian ones, so I'm not sure what sort of reading you should be getting, 20 volts A/C might be right seeing you are only using 3 coils, not sure. 20 volts for the battery and 20 volts for the headlight might be right. With the wires joined together to use a a 2 wire stator might give you 40 volts A/C. Can you contact Wassel?

Norm, it came with instructions regarding the wire colours. I assume they are correct.I have a standard 4 wire one here, I guess ill stick it in tomorrow and measure the output and see what i get. But I have a distant memory that its a lot more then 20VAC.

The voltage accorss the battery goes up about .2V when i rev the motor, this aint going to do it.

I could not find contact details for Wassel?
