I have been in conversation with a pal about doing a swap for one of these, a restoration project. I have actually ridden one and quite liked it for a 350 sidevalve. Anyone got any opinions or advice? Our Hosts seem to have a lot of parts available but what's hard to get/problems to look out for etc? Thanks and REgards, Mark

Mark, can't help, but if you are thinking of a swap don't swap it for an Inter.

Hi MARK.......... my mate TIM runs this 1938 350......It's just having a new big-end fitted by ALPHA Bearings in DUDLEY having done an extra 3,000 miles after being diagnosed with an end on its' way out !! Maybe not quite the same as your potential one but no real probs. with spares...Electrics have been upgraded (Mag and dynamo)and it runs on modern rubber ie Barum Economy.....Attention-getter wherever it goes.......................... Thanks Alan! Any ideas about performance? The one I rode was pleasant but worn out! REgards, Mark

------------ sounds like me !! A steady 50mph on the flat seems to be about right.....but when deployed the bulb horn will knock 5mph off that figure (Ha-Ha, not really!!)....... gaskets etc from Mr.H and/or E-bay... We just sourced a NoS Hepolite piston from these people}---- http://www.fwthornton.co.uk/ ---------, who have now moved to Telford ( just next to where 'er indoors lives---- now that's what I call HANDY !!)

I wonder what would happen to a person walking through Tescos telling everyone that stuff is better at Sainsburys ? Its a shame Mr Alan R does not THINK before he promotes other rival companies on Mr H's website forum...We will all be bemoaning our fate when this FREE forum is pulled, there are very few rules - its a shame some on here cannot even remember one of them.

Hi guys----------- Hello PAUL, you old GRUNDA you !!----------I'm puzzled old mate..Just re-reading your posting and can't quite get what you're on about !!... The final part of the LAST POSTING on MY screen reads}------ "Now that's what I call HANDY ".( I can't see any other positive contribution on there at all).......Anyway, I'm sure Mr.H doesn't see the company I mentioned as a RIVAL ?? (Probably a useful source for him as well, I dare say)....and the Barum Tyres are what we had available at the time.... Incidentally,I did mention Mr.H as a possible source for parts and gaskets ....OH,HELLO ?? What was that ???... I just heard a funny farty noise like a blown gasket OR}-- a square peg sitting down at a ROUND TABLE, maybe ?? ----------------- No burnt valves as such.. We keep this 350 on the road by purchasing a LOT of spares from Mr.H in our quest for reliability and longevity, the HOLY GRAIL of Enfield ownership, you might say !!!.....Finally, as you yourself know, trying to get people to make useful, meaningful contributions and thus keep this free forum ALIVE, interesting and active is akin to drawing blood from a stone (or a SWORD, maybe ??)------------ That's odd, there seems to be a theme developing here ...........Ah, do I see a shadowy figure lurking behind lace curtains.....Toodle-Pip, chaps !!

Hi Mark!

Well...I'd pass it by. But as something just to collect and show then fine.

Lots of parts are NOT the same as the WDCO, but nothing on old bikes is unrepairable. The army didn't like them, too gutless. Performance was dismal even when new, which is why they didn't want them. They make a 350 Bullet feel like a futuristic rocket machine...
