Electra woes !

I have 2 questions gents, my Electra big end has failed, and I will most likely upgrade to the Hitchcocks modified rod, but I need recommendations odf a good place to get the crank predded up, and if needed, balanced, ideally somewhere in the south of England ?
Secondly, having split the crankcase, I find no gasket between them, although both the manual, and Mr H list one, did they stop fitting one, should I fit one, and if so will I need to shim the mains to suit the change in width ?
