sixty five Electrical question:
When cold the bike takes a number of kicks to start (you might say dont they all but this has only started in this department latley) also the horn don't want to sound (well maybe just about a squeek from it)also the frog lights barely light up when operated from the handle bar switch with the key turned to on position.
Have one of HM gel battries fited, I only use the kick starter to get it going (start motor never worked while i have owned it). When the bike is up and running the ameter needle is dead on the + - line, don't even go into the + side even after 50 mile run. When out on a run and while the engine is still warm, it will start 1st kick but if left to cool down (sday 45 minutes)takes a number of boots to get going again.
Lights work when running, when going faster the lights get brighter as you would expect also ticks over ok. Any ideas / sugestions of the problem guys?

Thanks
Paul / guru

If you copy & paste the link below for details on how too test the charging circuit I'm assuming your bike is a newer 1999 plus A/C- D/C model. All you need is a digital test meter that will help find the problem. Might just be a duff battery. http://hitchcocks.sincordia.co.uk/pictu ... 999_on.pdf

P/s should of added the 65 is a A/C - D/C Model so the head light will get brighter when revving and not work when the engine is off as its fed direct of the alternator.

Hi guys----- GURU, now please don't bite my head off, ok?? but in your first posting you put}"-----also the frog lights barely light up when operated from the handle bar switch with the key turned to on position."---------- I'm assuming that was a typo and you meant FOG LIGHTS ?? Has the bike been fitted with extra lighting eg}-- FOG LAMPS, SPOT LIGHTS etc, OR did you mean the two small white lights in the casquette ??... If there are indeed extra lights fitted then the total load on the Generator may be more than its' rated output....You might just check that the Battery and Earth connections are sound and clean----
