Dazza, do you have a test light, if so test the fuse across the battery with it, then check battery to frame earth. Check battery connections arent broken internally, if ok, with the test light see if you have power up to the ignition switch. If you do have power up to the switch come back and let us know so we can test further

Dazza, there are two fuses, one inside the toolbox and another in the wiring under the saddle.

I'm glad it was a simple fix in the end. I only noticed that fuse when I changed from the dual to a single seat. It's worthwhile swapping those awful glass fuses and useless holders to spade type fuses which are readily available.

Hi guys----------- I have a 2005 Classic 500 (Home Market) which I've fitted a solo on and haven't found another fuse..... Is it in a different type of container then or not fitted to some model types/ years maybe ?? (Can't find it on my 1997 bike either)

Hi Alan, the wiring diagram in my manual for my 2007 350 shows two fuses -the 20 amp 'battery' fuse and a 15amp 'ignition' fuse which was in a small 2 1/4"long black tubular plastic holder close to reg/rectifier. I guess it was a standard fit for the iron classic bikes so must be on your bike somewhere. It is in a red wire connecting the ignition switch to the ammeter. Hope you find it as it will be be bugger if it blows like mine did when I shorted the brake light wires. All the best, John
