Sixty 5 Clutch oil/cable

Having completed (at last) a conversion from left to right gearchange using one of our hosts kits I used ATF oil in the clutch casing as I use it in other British bikes I have and it solved problems I had with them. Should I have used this oil or os there a better one to use?
I tool bike for its first run since conversion today and noticed the clutch cable getting slacker as the run went on finally running out of adjustment on both adjusters as I got home. I dont think related to above and I have not looked into it yet but guessing a gearbox outer casing off job for weekend. Any thoughts?

PS The kit was simple to put on and I am pleased with it.
