Hi finally got my GT on the road and mot, but it's leaking lots of oil from where the rear chain exits all the time even when parked up over night. Does anyone have any ideas where it could be coming from or the cause.
thanks mole

Hi Mole, Are you talking about the Crusader model! If so the only two places it can be are from the gearbox drive shaft, and the oil seal behind the clutch assembly. If the oil stays nice and clean gearbox side, if you notice a slight discolour in the oil clutch side.

Hi Howzie thanks for info it seems to be the gearbox as oil is clean so do I need to strip the gearbox to replace the seal or can I get to it by just removing the clutch and drive sprocket. thanks mole

Hi Mole, Start by stripping the clutch assembly down till you get at the final drive sprocket, wipe any oil a way from behind the drive sprocket and top up the gear box oil and leave it for a while, then when you come back you should see the oil trickling down from the final drive shaft, if this is so then it's proof that the gearbox oil seal needs to be replaced. this can be done by removing the drive sprocket then getting at the oil seal, if I remember you should not need to touch the gearbox. Do not forget and replace the oil seal on the back cover in the primary chain case before you assemble the clutch.
Cheers Howzie.
