I can't sit here and let Ariel Arrows take nock (Cristeel) My Ariel Sports Arrow is now trouble. It's been rebuilt of coarse, and well looked after, 12v starts easily hot or cold, timed at the alternator, fast at 80mp. Like all Ariels they are extremely well built and give a good mileage, they don't have any clutch or gear box problems. They're nice bikes to ride, very agile corner well and pick up well. My only criticism is that the front brake is poor and struggle up steep hills. Now I've said all that I hope it starts next time I use it.........Dennis

Agreed! Engines well-built, cornering superb, brakes dreadful (I found out the hard way that they don't work at all when wet!)

Nothing wrong with an Arial Arrow mate, i was up at Brands Hatch the day that a Herman Mier tuned Arrow passed Mike Hailwood on his works Mondial as they went passed the grandstand somewhere late 50s i think. The roar of the crowd is something i have never forgotten.

I'm not knocking them, my dad has two leaders, a Golden Arrow, a race tuned (Motorcycle Mechanics), and two Arrows and they are brilliant! BUT based on five of the six arrows, the racing arrow doesn't count - that's just a cow to start full stop! they can be very difficult to start if the timing isn't absolutely spot on.
