Now there is a project for you Paul, Hinkley Bonnie in an Enfield, That will certainly pull a chair. Google John Dawes's Trifield. Not sure if it would fit in the UCE frame though because the engine space is smaller than the earlier Bullet frames.Certainly getting back to the old days with Triumph and Enfield pushing out plenty of bikes maybe somebody will start bringing out a conversion kit or a special frame so you can just swap it over from your existing Bullet, bit like the rigid rear end kit

hi noel its up to around £300 at the moment no crank parts bought yet ,also not split cases as am waiting for a few special tools to land ,hi norm i wanted to fit a nice diesel engine in but juan is not convinced as the performance would be like a bsa m20 but is that a bad thing i,m not too sure ,i just cannot believe that these things only last 15000 miles i know tugging a chair increases work load but i actually think its poor anyway i,ve got the job of carrying out the repairs so i best get on with it, be seeing ya!

Hi Paul... Just wondering what the symptoms are which lets you know the crank and big end are shot? My EFI is getting rather noisy and at around 17000 miles has done a lot of heavy miles. And... given your obvious enthusiasm (!) for repairing these beasts... where are you based? Just in case ;)

I'm sure you'll get Juan up and running soon Paul, no doubt he'll come up with one of amusing tales about it, I can lend him a push bike till he's back on the road

Thanks 92 but in the meantime Paul has fitted peddles to the empty frame anyway!
