Hello ,
has anyone tried our hosts wider swing arm ?
I would like to fit a wider trials type tyre to the rear of my 2001 Bullet , and think that i might need one of these . Any info would be helpful , thanks .

Hello PHILLIP W ------------- I fitted a trials swing-arm on my Bullet 65 a few years back although it wasn't supplied by our hosts... It's a "must-do" in my opinion if you want to fit trials tyres etc. although I seem to remember one or two on here in the past saying they had managed to use them within the standard arm---- but it'll be VERY close at the front end if you do... The chainguard mounting bolt is the main problem..........

Hi PHILLIP---------- a 4.00 x 19 trials would be ok in the WIDER arm but not in the standard one...

Yes got one of them and it is fine, will take a 4.00 tyre no problem, such as an SM Mark 2 or Ensign 4.00. I have 3.5 Avons on only because it is for road use, and Avon Roadriders stick to the tarmac and give a very planted ride.

Your biggest challenge will be finding affordable 4.00x19 trials tyres, 18" rears are the norm. I could only find 3.50x19 for mine, which fits in a standard arm.

Hi all... I can confirm that a 4" tyre will fit with the standard swing arm! Mine are Ensign universals front and back.

You can see there ain't a lot of room on the right hand side, but how much room do you need?

I know we all bend the rules from time to time but Avon and other tyre makers advise the maximum size for a WM2 rim to be 350, if fitting a 400 you should use a WM3 rim. Possible insurance problems if involved in an accident?.
