Constellation Corner, update!

Down in Connie land there hasn't been much activity. Well there has, but not Connie related. I recently bought a 250 rolling chassis off Ebay and had to collect that. It didn't roll as it had been standing in a garden for 20 years but brute force and an angle grinder fixed that! Underneath the rust and grime the Enfield bits are quite good but the non-Enfield parts that came with it not so good. (BSA Lightning tank with a rotted bottom, anyone?) Now that's all cleared I got back to the Connie. The rebuilt engine is in the frame, wheels and forks on so we're getting mobile at least. The engine, which I bought some years back turns over but needs some finishing; I've helicoiled some stripped timing cover screws, the cams need shimming etc. It came with a pile of Hitchcock's receipts apparently from the rebuild so I thought I'd check and see what had been done. That's when I discovered the bills probably don't relate to this engine... More in good time!

Chris, I didn't mention the work I've done on the Series 2 Interceptor 'cos it's all quite technical and long term at the moment, but thanks, I think I work slow! Yes the Ebay 350 is progressing, strangely enough the Magazine Editor (Paul) emailed me not 10 minutes ago asking where the next episode is! (For those not familiar with it, the Royal Enfield Magazine next issue is due out on June 1st, see previous issues online at greenlane.biz ) I'm working on the engine strip at the moment, and the next issue may well include DIY wheel building tips if my mate Neil and I get our stuff together this weekend!
