Workshop manual says remove drain plug. Next picture shows that the tubes slide out! I have complete forks out of bike. I've taken out a  circlip above an oil-seal. If I compress the fork and release it - it clunks. I thought this might move the oil seal. No.

Thanks

 Hi Philip,

I'm not sure what is in the technical notes here but worth looking. Basicly I would refit the forks because you have to remove the lower slider to get at the seals. The drain plug at the bottom of the slider needs to be on several threada and gently tap it with a hammer to get it moving back up inside the slider, then with a rubber mallet  tap on the lower part of the leg and it will come free. Then you have the job of removing the seals and for that I sugest you refer to the technical notes as the seals can be very difficult to remove and even though it is expensive for what it is, get the slider protector from our hosts because it will prevent you from damaging the top of the sliders. I have removed seals with a slide hammer, but sometimes they wont move and this is where you need the correct tool
